Here's a video of Max playing cricket in the Lindenow Under 11s. He is the batsman. After reluctantly being persuaded to play an obsession quickly developed.
We went to see a game of cricket played at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) on Australia Day weekend, here we are on the train going to Melbourne.
These boys were obsessed with cricket all summer and wore a bare patch in the backyard where the batter stood in the many games of backyard cricket.
Max is doing a "skill development" project as part of a Rotary Club Junior Award. Royce's mum has taught Max to cook Meatballs and Spaghetti Bolognaise, I have taught him to bake Sourdough Bread and Lemon Cake. Here they are fighting over who gets to lick the bowl.
Ruby loves helping out in the kitchen, here she is stirring a brew of hot milk with honey and turmeric, which is supposedly a superfood... nobody liked it very much...
Loom bands are all the rage here. This is our neighbour Lachy who brought his loom over and made bracelets for us. Ruby didn't ask, she just hopped on his lap.
A camping trip all alone with only his mother. Here is Max finishing off the bag of marshmallows.
George also went camping all alone with only his mother, this time we had forgotten the frying pan and had to cook our sausages for dinner by impaling them on sticks.
Ruby and I watched the school long distance run. Max and George each came third in their respective age groups.
Max exercising his authority as the House Captain of Walpa.
This is what came out of the egg we put under our clucky chicken... Ruby called it Bob, and sure enough it turned out to be a rooster.
Bob's mother with Bob under her wing
We are still eating home made sourdough bread. The boys would much prefer white supermarket bread. Ruby is always keen to help with the bread making.
George and two of his school friends.
Alan Thunderstick (centre) who we once called Eileen; pictured with his two daughters, Muffin (left) and Cheezel (right).
Muffin is "Max's guinea pig"... they even look alike.
Cheezel is George's.
Cousin Malakai (the small Ninja Turtle) turned 4 while Max and George were in Canada. Ruby helped celebrate.
There was a Cricket "coaching clinic" led by 80s Australian cricket legend, Rodney Hogg.
The boys were able to talk about technique with the great man himself.

We are grieving the loss of Harry Perzigian, and are grateful for the part he played in our lives.
